CT PGA Honors Fox Hopyard Golf Teacher with Prestigious Award
Brad Lusenhop, of Fox Hopyard Golf Club, was recently named the CT PGA 2013 Teacher of the Year.
The Connecticut Section of the PGA recently announced that Brad Lusenhop of Fox Hopyard Golf is theΒ recipientΒ of the 2013 CTPGA Teacher of the Year award.Β He will officially receive the award at the CTPGA Special Awards Banquet at Foxwoods Casino onΒ Sunday, November 17, 2013.
The award is the 'highest instructionalΒ recognition a PGA Professional can receive on the Section level' according to the press release. Lusenhop was selected from dozens of finalists after a long process that began in March when he was nominated.Β
According to the release, "Lusenhopβs experience with the game and instruction by several PGA Professionals led him to an obsession with studying and understanding the swing and an unbridled enthusiasm and passion for helping others."
When asked for a comment on Lusenhop, Ron Beck, Director of Golf at Fox Hopyard, said in the press release thatΒ he learned everything he needed to know about his Assistant the very first day of Bradβs employ.Β
"An elderly woman came in the shop on a cold and dreary April day inquiring about an Assistant from the previous year that had moved on to a new club on Long Island. She went on to say she had bought a lesson package the previous year but only took 2 of the 6 lessons,β explains Beck in the release. βBefore I could even address the situation Brad jumped in and offered to finish the package for free. I knew in that moment that his heart and commitment were in the right place. He was destined for success as a Golf Professional and as an instructor. I knew it at that moment and with this tremendous recognition the entire golf community now knows it."
