Driver Extricated In East Haddam Car Crash: Fire Department

Two car crashes were reported in East Haddam on Sunday. One required firefighters to extricate a driver from a vehicle.

EAST HADDAM, CT — Two car crashes occurred in East Haddam on Sunday with one requiring firefighters to extricate a person from a vehicle, according to an East Haddam Fire Department Facebook post.

The first was a one-car accident at 6:55 a.m. Sunday at 17 Norwich Road. The patient was evaluated by paramedics. The road was closed for a limited period, and the crash is under investigation.

The second crash was reported at 3:49 p.m. on Salem Road. A person was trapped inside the car. East Haddam and Salem fire departments responded and were able to extricate the driver after 23 minutes. The driver was then transported to the hospital.
