Driver Hospitalized In Haddam Car V. Pole Wreck: Report

A person was injured in the Monday morning accident.

HADDAM, CT — A driver was hospitalized after crashing into a utility pole on Hayden Hill Road on Monday morning, according to The Middletown Press. Part of the road was closed when the wreck occurred at 11:10 a.m.

The driver was heading north when they struck the utility pole, which snapped in half and fell across the road. The pole's transformer had a mineral oil spill, which resulted in a response by the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, according to The Middletown Press.

The driver was taken to Hartford Hospital.
