East Haddam 2023 Election Voter Guide: Candidates, Polling Places

EAST HADDAM, CT — On Nov. 7, East Haddam residents cast their votes for several key municipal positions. Contested races include: the town council and school board.

Polls in Connecticut are open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. You can use the Secretary of State’s website to find your polling place. Voters who are in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Connecticut also allows for Election Day registration at designated centers in each town. People must be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote using Election Day registration. To receive your absentee ballot, complete and sign an application and return it to your Town Clerk, or you can request an absentee ballot online.

First Selectman

The Democratic candidate is Tanya Bourgoin and the Republican candidate is Irene Haines. Bourgoin is also endorsed by the Independent Party.

Selectman

The Democratic candidate is John Olin and the Republican candidate is Erik Dill.

Town Clerk

The Democratic candidate is Kathleen Klinck and the Republican candidate is Keira Thompson.

Town Treasurer

The Democratic candidate is Maryjane Parkus Malavasi and the Republican candidate is Maureen Goff.

Tax Collector

The lone candidate is Denise Dill, a Republican.

Board of Finance

The Democratic candidates are: Harvey W. Thomas Jr., Amalia Shaltiel, and Eric Kolasinski. The Republican candidate is Joe Corbett.

Board of Education 2-Year-Term

The Democratic candidates are David Cassenti and Jacqueline Endorf and the Republican candidates are Sean Morrissey and Joe Polcari.

Board of Education 4-Year-Term

The Democratic candidate is Thea A. Jansky and the Republican candidate is Stephen Trojan.

Board of Assessment Appeals

The lone candidate is Justin Kennedy, who is a Republican.

Planning and Zoning

The Democratic candidate is James M. Curtin and the Republican candidate is Louis H. Salicrup.

Planning and Zoning Alternate

The Democratic candidate is Stephen Lohmeyer and the Republican candidate is Toni Marie Dumaine.

Library Trustee

The Democratic candidates are Shea Jezek and Mary Mazur and the Republican candidate is Juliana Tryon Ranaudo.

The Democratic candidate is Janine Broe and the Republican candidate is William J. Barney.
