East Haddam Teen Killed In Truck Crash
An East Haddam teen died when his truck struck a tree Wednesday night, according to state police.

EAST HADDAM, CT — A teen died in a single-vehicle wreck in East Haddam on Wednesday night, according to state police. The wreck was reported at 7:51 p.m. on Mott Lane.
Police said Connor Young, 16, of 181 Smith Road in East Haddam, was driving a Ford F250 Super Duty Pickup westbound on Mott Lane. The truck left the road for an unknown reason and veered left, crossing into the eastbound lane.
The truck then struck a tree on the eastbound side of the road.

Young was the only person in the truck. He was transported to Hartford Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

East Haddam Public Schools Superintendent Brian Reas made a statement on the student's death, according to WTNH News-8: “We are profoundly sad to lose this wonderful young man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Grief counselors are available at the schools to support our students and staff members.”
