Haddam Firefighters Respond to 7 Accidents During Spring Snowstorm
On Monday, April 4, icy conditions caused accidents all throughout the state.

The Haddam Volunteer Fire Company responded to seven motor vehicle accidents on Monday, April 4.
"Slick, snowy and icy roads made for difficult driving conditions throughout the day," the fire company said via Facebook.
They relayed the details of the busy day:
"Shortly before 9 a.m. firefighters were dispatched to a rollover on Saybrook Road between Thayer Road and Thayer Road Ext. The driver of the vehicle slid off the road, but self-extricated. The driver was evaluated on scene and refused medical treatment.
At 1:30 p.m., Haddam Fire responded to a two-vehicle accident on Route 9 North near Exit 10. Both drivers were evaluated on scene and one was transported to Middlesex Hospital with minor injuries.
Between 2-3 p.m., Haddam firefighters assisted with four additional accidents between Exits 7 and 8 near the 82 E connector. Chester Hose Company provided mutual aid at two of these accidents. Drivers of these vehicles were evaluated on scene by EMS personnel and refused medical treatment.
At 5 p.m, Haddam Fire went to the scene of yet another rollover on Route 9 North between Exits 9 and 10. The party self-extricated and was evaluated on scene.
Haddam Volunteer Fire Co. reminds motorists that wet, slippery roads call for extra caution, slower speeds and additional stopping distance. Be safe!"
