Here are the top three stories in The Haddams-Killingworth today:
- Eddie White, co-captain of the Haddam Killingworth High School Boys tennis team, has reportedly been selected to compete in the 2022 CIAC Boys Tennis Invitational Tournament which will be played at Wesleyan University starting Monday, June 6. According to an article on HK Now, "the Invitational is described by the CIAC website as an event “… where the best high school singles and doubles players from around the state will compete for an individual title.”
White was chosen based on his record playing #1 singles for the Cougars this season. He reached the semi-finals in the recently completed Shoreline Conference Tournament 1-2 singles competition as the number three seed and was named as First Team-All Shoreline for his achievements in the Tournament. Good luck Eddie! (HK Now) - Haddam Killingworth High School Boy's Varsity Lacrosse are the Shoreline Conference Champions. They won their first game of the Class S 2022 state tournament Wednesday night, reportedly beating the Tolland Eagles 7-1. According to an HK Now article Braden Civiello was a brick wall in goal, LSM Jack Insalaco vacuumed up anything that touched the ground and D-poles Matteo Piacenti, Sam Young and Aidan Griswold smothered any semblance of an Eagle attack. - On Saturday from 2 to 10 p.m., Middletown will reportedly hold the state's largest Pride celebration. “My mission is to save lives, make sure that everyone has the same human rights as everyone else, and can live to their most fulfilling life experiences,” said LGBTQIA+ Commission member and Pride march organizer Laura Timmons in an article in the Middletown Press. In its first year, the 2019 Pride observance drew 15,000 people downtown, this year, the hope is for an even larger number. Middletown Pride, includes a march, showcase concerts, rally, and numerous other themed activities throughout June. (Middletown Press)
