Two state parks, including one in East Haddam, were named among the best "hidden gems" for fall foliage in a recent survey.

EAST HADDAM, CT — With the beginning of fall this weekend, you might be wondering about where the best spot is for leaf-peeping.
In Connecticut, two state parks in the state were named a hidden gem and landed in the top 50 in the country, according to Mixbook.
Devil's Hopyard State Park in East Haddam was No. 29.

The forecast suggests foliage fans in Connecticut should see a vibrant display. Through most of the state, that peak is expected in mid-October. If you live in the state's southeastern most corner, you'll have to wait until later that month for the richest show.
