Norwich Road in East Haddam will soon be closed to through traffic due to the scheduled reconstruction of two bridges by the state Department of Transportation.  The road closure will begin on April 15. The roadway is expected to reopen by Nov. 1, once the bridge reconstruction is complete. During this time, the road will be closed north of the Main Street (Route 149) and Norwich Road (Route 82) intersection at Creamery Road.Access to local businesses in the construction area — Boardman House Bed &amp; Breakfast, Bishop's Gate Bed &amp; Breakfast and Swing Bridge Spirits — will be open and can be accessed by Norwich Road. During construction traffic will be detoured to Main Street (Route 149) to Moodus Center and Route 151 to the Route 82 intersection at the "Four Corners" (Shagbark, Two Wrasslin Cats, Towne Tavern).The detour map is posted above.
