  1. Kevin Cavrell has been awarded The Haddam Civic League's, $1,000 scholarship. With an outstanding high school career under his belt, Cavrell will be attending Bryant University in the fall, running for the Division 1 track team. According to the HK Now.com article, while attending Haddam Killingworth High School, Cavrell participated in football, indoor and outdoor track, was a member of Student Council and completed more than 250 hours of Community Service. The HCL is organized and operated for the purpose of collecting and disseminating news and information for the benefit of the citizens in the community through its on-line newspaper HK-Now.com and its weekly publication Haddam Killingworth News. The scholarship award is for use in the student’s pursuit of secondary education in the field of journalism or communications. (HK Now)
