People from Lyme braved the chilly rain Saturday to protest Monsanto and call for labeling of genetically modified foods.
The local chapter of DC-based Food & Water Watch was participating in a global demonstration on May 25, organizers said, "as a sign of protest against agribusiness giant Monsanto and to express ongoing support of SB 802 (formerly HB 6519,) an act concerning the labeling of genetically engineered food.”
People from Mystic, Lyme, New London, Groton, Waterford and other regional communities held signs and clapped when drivers honked in support. Watch the video here.
