The Town of East Lyme’s Health and Safety Committee “Charity of the Month” for September will be Jeffrey’s Rainbow Run in honor of Jeffrey Bourgeois, the 6-year-old Salem boy who was tragically killed in a wood chipper accident in April of 2012.
At the family's request, all the proceeds from this year's race will go into a scholarship fund earmarked for East Lyme High School seniors who plan to further their education to work with children or animals. It will be called the ELYS Jeffrey's Rainbow Scholarship.
