The new school features geothermal heating and a renovated gym and auditorium.

A press release from the Lyme-Old Lyme School District:
Lyme-Old Lyme Schools are pleased to announce the grand re-opening of the newly renovated Lyme-Old Lyme High School. A formal ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 9 a.m. in front of the newly renovated facility.
Student-led tours will take place immediately following the ceremony. All members of the communities of Lyme and Old Lyme are invited to attend this special event.
The ceremony will conclude three years of a “renovate as new” project. Construction began in the summer of 2010. Some of the new features include a new commons/cafeteria area, full renovations of all educational spaces, energy efficiencies including, but not limited to, geothermal heating and cooling, advanced classroom and operational technologies, a fully renovated auditorium and fully renovated gymnasium, additional athletic fields, and numerous
other interior and exterior upgrades.
This project was overseen by the Region #18 Building Committee who enlisted O+G Industries of Torrington, Connecticut as their construction manager. Northeast Collaborative Architects of Middletown, Connecticut provided the
architectural services for this renovation.
