Last Weekend For Singing and Apple Picking At Old Orchard Farm
Apple cider pressings will continue every Saturday through Thanksgiving and monthly coffee houses start back up again on November 24 at the East Lyme farm.

This is the last weekend for the pick-your-own apples at Old Orchard Farm in East Lyme. On Sunday, October 27, the farm will host the last of its weekly open mic sessions. After that, Old Orchard will return to its once a month open mic coffeehouses, with the next one scheduled for November 24. Here's a recent performance posted on YouTube, which will give you the flavor of the place.
For a real taste of Old Orchard, though, you've got to try the pies and apple cider. Butch Foster will continue pressing fresh cider every Saturday morning through Thanksgiving and Mary Foster is baking up a storm, with all kinds of pies on offer, all of them equally delicious. (Don't forget to place your holiday orders in advance, (860) 739-4779.)
This season, Mary Foster also canned some apple sauce, and as always there will be farm fresh products such as local honey and maple syrup for sale at the farm at 22a Scott Road (off Route 1) in East Lyme.
