Man Accused Of Harassment At East Lyme Polling Place: Reports

A man showed up East Lyme polling places and harassed poll workers, voters, and Girl Scouts, according to reports.

EAST LYME, CT — A man was arrested following an altercation outside an East Lyme polling place, according to WTNH News-8.

The man went to his designated polling place at East Lyme High School and refused to show ID or sign an affidavit allowing him to vote.

He claimed he was being subject to an illegal strip search, then harassed poll workers, other voters, and Girl Scouts, according to NBC CT.

At one point, he went to a polling place at the town's community center and is accused of confronting Sen. Martha Marks, causing Nick Menapace, a candidate for state representative, to intervene, WTNH News-8 reported.

He was charged with disorderly conduct and violation of conditions for release related to a past arrest.
