Man Dies Following East Lyme Accident: Reports
An 80-year-old man was killed in a crash on Route 161 in East Lyme, according to reports.

EAST LYME, CT — An 80-year-old man is dead after an accident Friday on Route 161 in East Lyme, according to WTNH News-8.
The crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Chesterfield and Drabik roads.
A vehicle had rolled over with the driver still fastened with his seatbelt in the driver's seat, according to WTNH News-8. Emergency crews cut the belt and attempted life-saving measures before the man was taken to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.

He was later declared dead. The man's identity is being withheld until police notify his next of kin.
A second crash occurred at 3:09 p.m. when a vehicle traveling about 500 feet south of the fatal accident veered off the road, The Day of New London reported. This crash required the state Department of Transportation to remove debris before the road could be reopened.
