Niantic's "Got That One Thing"
There's a lot to sing about if you're from Niantic and, though this music video may not make it to the top of the charts, it aims to boost the village to the top spot as Connecticut's Still Revolutionary Fan Favorite town of the year.

In case you haven't heard, the State Department of Tourism is holding a "Fan Favorite Top Towns" vote for the best destination in Connecticut—and Niantic is still in the top spot and holding its own against second place Mystic.
This Wednesday is the last chance to vote and there's a full-court press to make sure Niantic wins the bragging rights for 2013. To give the campaign a final boost, Kate Eberle of Grace Store in Niantic came up with the idea of making a video.
It's posted on YouTube and features everyone from students at Niantic Center School to First Selectman Paul Formica singing sections of a song written by Eberle and set to the music of One Direction's song "One Thing."
"The hardest part was coming up with a song to use," said Eberle. Once she settled on the song, however, the lyrics came easily. She didn't have any trouble finding people to sing it, either. An email blast to merchants on Main Street netted a quick response. The fastest came from Formica, who responded in five minutes.
"He was one of the most enthusiastic," Eberle said.
Some sing better than others (the chef from The Black Sheep could really bring down the house on karaoke night) but all of them are singing with feeling about the "one thing" they think Niantic's got that sets the coastal village apart. You'll find the video here. Don't forget to vote!
