Popular State Park Beach Closed For Swimming
The state said that the beach is closed after the most recent results testing for bacteria came in.

NIANTIC, CT — Rocky Neck State Park (West Beach) in Niantic is closed for swimming Wednesday, according to the Connecticut State Parks Department.
The beach is closed due to the results of the most recent bacteria test results from Tuesday conducted by the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
Tests are conducted weekly from Memorial Day to Labor Day. When a closure occurs, a retest will be scheduled within the next day when possible, according to the parks department.

While the beach is closed, the park is still open for other recreational activities.
Beaches at state parks in Madison, Westport, and Milford are open for swimming Wednesday.

Swimming advisories were also posted to several New London County beaches Wednesday as well.
