Sen. Linares Is Collecting Flags
Is it time to retire that old flag? Here's where you can take it to make sure it's treated with the respect it deserves.
A lot of people put out new flags for Memorial Day but if you're wondering what to do with the old ones, here's a suggestion.
On May 25, Sen. Art Linares will host a flag collection to help residents dispose of their worn American flags in a dignified and respectful way. From 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Sen. Linares will be collecting tattered and torn flags at the Haddam Transfer Station at 750 Saybrook Road in Haddam.
“The flags we collect will be given to the American Legion for proper retirement,” Sen. Linares said. “Please take stock of your flags and stop by the transfer station on Saturday. I look forward to seeing you.”
