The SideDoor Presents ... Jazz Pianist Sergio Salvatore and Vibraphonist Christos Rafalids

The Old Lyme Inn's jazz club continues to bring in the stars tonight.

If you missed renowned Steinway artist and jazz pianist, Sergio Salvatore and vibraphonist Christos Rafalids at Old Lyme Inn's The SideDoor Jazz Club last night, don't worry, you've got two chances to hear both of them again tonight.

Sergio Salvatore started his recording career at the ripe old age of 11, and has gone on to record with such jazz greats as Chick Corea, Gary Burton and Randy Gottleib, and performed with Mel Torme, Tony Bennett, and Grover Washington Jr.

In 2008 Salvatore released “Dark Sand” a duet project with virtuoso vibraphonist Christos Raphalides, which earned rave reviews in DownbeatJazzTimes, and AllAboutJazz.

Born in Greece, Christos Raphalides received a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music and went on to study with acclaimed jazz vibraphonist Joe Locke at the Manhattan School of Music. Today, he's a vital part of the New York City jazz scene, playing with artists such as Ravi Coltrane, Antonio Sanchez, Donny McCaslin, Mark Ledfor and Ron Affif.

You can catch Sergio Salvatore and Christos Raphalides in concert tonight at The SideDoor on Lyme Street in Old Lyme, where this dynamic duo will be playing two shows at 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tickets are $35. Call 860-434-2500 for more information.
