The Town Of Old Lyme Needs You!

The town of Old Lyme needs volunteers to serve on an anti-blight ordinance committee and needs recording secretaries and meeting clerks.

Tired of looking at blighted buildings? Want to know what's going on at Town Hall? Then you might be the perfect person to help out the Town of Old Lyme. 

Wanted: Anti-Blight Ordinance Committee Members

The Board of Selectmen is putting together an Anti-Blight Ordinance Committee.   The committee is charged with making anti-blight policy recommendations to the Board of Selectmen by October 31, 2013. The recommendations will include developing a definition of blight; identifying whether or not blight exists in Town; considering existing Ordinances that relate to blight; investigating other anti-blight ordinances or statutes; recommendingenforcement procedures.

If you are interested in serving on this short-term committee, please complete the attached application and return it to First Selectwoman Bonnie Reemsnyder by June 15, 2013.

Wanted: Recording Secretaries/Meeting Clerks  
Meeting Clerks attend Board or Commission meetings and are responsible for recording and filing minutes of the meetings in accordance with state and town requirements. Clarity, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines are essential. Compensation includes a meeting attendance fee and an hourly rate for preparation and filing of the minutes.
