Party Affiliation:
Democrat

Occupation:
Attorney- 4 years

Family:
My husband Jon and I have four children, Rose (14), Evelyn (11), Aria (4) and Dashiell (3).

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
I have no family who work in politics or government.

Previous public office, appointive or elective:
Yes, I've been serving on the Tolland Town Council since 2023, and I've served two previous terms in the town of Vernon on the Board of Education.

Why are you seeking this office?
My colleagues and I have been doing a lot of work these past two years on town council. I'd like to continue that work making sure we have a balanced, equitable and responsible budget, finding uniques ways to grow our economy without losing the charm of Tolland and making sure we support our residents in need.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
Balancing a healthy budget that supports the schools and the town departments without breaking the bank for our residents.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I have experience. I've sat on the town council through two budget cycles it really takes a solid few years to really know how the process works. I also work in an industry that serves indigent clients, I understand the needs and struggles of today's families, seniors etc. because I see that every day at work.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
I'd like to stay on top of the sidewalk litigation and make sure that doesn't get pushed aside, I would like to continue supporting a healthy relationship with the BOE and find ways we can support and help each other, I'd like to make sure we are hosting an environment for town employees that promotes longevity, I would also like to make sure we are addressing the goals of council as set at the beginning of the term. We need to make sure we are holding ourselves accountable.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
My team and I were very proactive in getting an SRO into the schools, the BOE needed assistance and we supported that need with a unique solution. Both budget cycles had bipartisan support. There was the exception of one individual who refused to compromise but the rest of the town council refused to let that deter us from promoting a fair budget supported by both parties. You need to remain focused, have thick skin and keep pushing forward to be successful.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Never make a promise you can't keep. When you say you're going to do something, you do it. When you say you're going to show up, you show up. This is the basis of all successful relationships both personally and professionally.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
My team and I are here to listen, we are open to discussion and if you feel conflicted about your vote feel free to reach out and ask questions. We are lucky to have 4 incumbents on our slate and we would really like to continue serving this town.
