Fire Department Cautions Residents about Questionable Telephone Solicitations

From the Town of Tolland:

The Tolland Fire Department has received information that questionable telephone calls are being placed to Tolland residents soliciting funds for firefighters.

The Tolland Fire Department has not authorized anyone to make such calls on its behalf and is not attempting to raise funds this manner.

Residents who receive such a call should question the caller carefully about the exact identity of the organization soliciting the funds, and should not give out any personal financial data over the telephone.

Complaints about any suspicious telephone solicitations can be directed to the Consumer Protection Division of the State Attorney General’s office in Hartford by calling (860) 808-5318.
