Town resident Bob Evangelista is the winner of a Barnes & Noble Nook e-reader in a drawing sponsored by the Tolland Public Library Foundation.
Evangelista and his wife Geraldine received the Nook from Foundation board member Dani Titterton, new Library Director Barbara Pettijohn and librarian Mary Anne Ainsworth Nov. 17 as part of the Foundation’s “Take a Look, Win a Nook” promotion.
The Foundation collected entries from Tolland residents 12 and over throughout September and October. The drawing was designed to encourage residents to get reacquainted with a town treasure – the Tolland Public Library.

The library allows Tolland cardholders to check out one of several Nooks that come with free material already downloaded such as “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” by Stieg Larsson.
The Foundation was established in 1996 to receive donations to benefit the Tolland Public Library and to enhance library services beyond what the town budget provides. It is currently sponsoring “The Year of the Young Adult,” to encourage more middle and high school students to use the library by funding of new programs and services targeted to this age group.
