From the Town of Tolland:
The Inland Wetlands Commission currently has vacancies for two alternates.
The Inland Wetlands Commission is charged with regulating activities in and around the streams, ponds and wetlands of Tolland. Members of the Commission should have an interest in protecting the natural resources of the town within the framework of the Inland Wetlands Act. Although bringing technical expertise in engineering, biology or law to the Commission is appreciated, it is not required. Most of the residents that have served on this commission did not have any special knowledge before they joined. Attending the DEEP training sessions will provide you with the basic knowledge to understand wetlands laws and procedures. Attending meetings and participating in the discussions will give you the experience and knowledge you would need.
