Heron Cove Rink Open for Skating - If the Weather Cooperates
Tolland residents can use the rink for skating fun this winter season.
Tolland's Heron Cove Park on South River Road is open for skating, as long as Mother Nature provides some wintry weather!
Public Works Director Clem Langlois, Jr. said that the rink has been around for skating for at least five years, but that the weather was too warm the past two years for it to freeze over.
The rink, which is 120 feet by 80 feet, was already bustling with Tolland residents during last week's frosty weather.

Langlois said that the rink is open for use from dawn to dusk every day of the week. Public Works employees are adding more water to the rink when the weather drops below freezing.
The rink is used for roller skating during the warmer months.
