KBE Building Corporation Names Principal

From KBE Building Corporation: Tolland resident Timothy O’Brien has been named a principal at KBE Building Corporation, a $300 million commercial construction firm located in Farmington, CT.

Mr. O’Brien joined the firm in 1996. He was named Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President in 2015 and became a principal this February. Mr. O’Brien is responsible for all aspects of KBE’s accounting and financial functions, as well as strategic planning for KBE’s long-term growth. He has more than 20 years of experience in business and financial management roles in the construction industry. Before joining KBE in 1996, he worked for a national development and construction firm in Phoenix. Tim received his BS in business administration from Bryant College. Tim is a member of the Construction Financial Management Association and for the last two years has served as Chairman of the Board of Associated Builders and Contractors.

Three other long-time employees were also named principal, as part of the firm’s continued growth and expansion: James Culkin, Chief Operating Office and Executive Vice President; Robert G. Dunn, Esq., Vice President and General Counsel; and Antonio Mancini, Vice President of Field Operations.

Kolakowski acquired the firm in 2007, along with Simon F. Etzel, Jr. and Eric Brown. Prior to acquiring the business, Kolakowski, Brown, and Etzel had been long-time senior managers of the major East Coast commercial construction services firm, which was founded in 1959. “Simon, Eric, and I are very pleased to have these four focused and dedicated individuals as our business partners.”
