TOLLAND, CT — A driver with a vehicle full of people is facing eight criminal charges following a day after Christmas 100 mph jaunt on Interstate 84 in Tolland, state police said.

The incident took place on Dec. 26 at 3:41 a.m., according to an arrest report. The driver, a 21-year-old from Framingham, MA, was caught traveling in the center lane of I-84 west at 100 mph by state troopers on patrol, according to an arrest report.

The vehicle was pulled over about a half-mile prior to Exit 68 in Tolland, according to an arrest report.

An exact vehicle description was not included in an arrest report, but state police said there were seven passengers in it, including two minors.

For that, the driver was charged with five counts first-degree reckless endangerment and two counts of risk of injury to a child.

For hitting 100 mph, he was charged with reckless driving.
