Tolland Set to Welcome Its Newest Road: Mitchell Circle
Mitchell Circle, a part of the Pine Brook Estates subdivision, could be Tolland's newest road if approved by the town council.
Mitchell Circle could soon become Tolland's 348th road, if the town council approves a resolution accepting the 400-foot long street.
Town Planner Linda Farmer said that property owner Stephen D. Williams built the road more than two years ago in the Pine Brook Estates subdivision, which includes roads off of Evergreen Drive.Â
It is a requirement that the road withstand two winters without significant damage before it is accepted by the town. The developer also has to submit title insurance and other paperwork, according to Farmer.

The Planning & Zoning Commission recommended the road's acceptance at its Monday meeting. Once the approval is official, the town will take over the road maintenance, Farmer said.
Williams sought to add the road to the subdivision in 2005 when applying for a re-subdivision of certain lots, according to Farmer.
