My Secret Weapon Part III, Tolland Little League Sign Up, Playgroups

Here are five things going on in the area today.

Good morning, Tolland! Today is Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday, party and party and party and YEAH! Party and party and party and YEAH! Feb. 22, 2013; there are 312 days left in the year.

Yesterday I went to my secret weapon, 14-year-old Community Editor Elyssa Millspaugh (Ed. Note: Ted, stop. She’s 24 and she’s your colleague at Patch), to help decipher some tricky language that is bandied about by our youth.

Elyssa is in high school (Ed. Note: Ted, knock it off. She’s a college graduate who has worked with you for over a year) and, therefore, serves as the Rosetta Stone between me and the kids I cover.

So, when I hear a sentence like this:

“I totes look like a slob-kebob today. Whatevs.”

Elyssa provides the following translation:

“I don’t look my best today, but I really don’t mind.”
