Power Restored to Birch Grove Primary School
The school had been without power since Thursday's thunderstorms.

At about 3:30 Saturday afternoon, power was finally restored to the Birch Grove Primary School since it was knocked out by the thunderstorms that rolled through the region Thursday night
On Friday, school was able to go on as scheduled. The building is equipped with a generator because it was designed as an emergency shelter for the town, Board of Education Member Steve Clark said in an e-mail. For lunch the cafeteria staff served "cold lunches," and some children said it felt like “summer camp,” Clark wrote.
With power restored, “Monday should be a normal school day, unless Mother Nature has other unannounced plans,” Clark wrote.
