President Obama: Bin Laden is Dead
President Obama announced moments ago that US forces have killed Osama bin Laden.
President Barack Obama went on national television just after 11:30 p.m. and announced that Osama bin Laden is dead, killed as part of a U.S.-authorized operation.
A fast-growing crowd is gathering outside the gates of the White House, chanting "U.S.A.! U.S.A.!" and singing the national anthem.
