TOLLAND, CT — In the town manager's 26-page report, which was posted on the town's website, it gives an update on several land-use matters in Tolland.

- Planning and Zoning continues to discuss affordable housing and has begun the process of updating its Affordable Housing Plan.
- Planning and Zoning discussed modifications to the farm/brewery/winery/cidery/distillery regulations to allow for limited on-site consumption of beverages produced off site, with a public hearing scheduled for February 26th.
- Permits have been submitted for construction for Tri-Town Gymnastics at 140 Tolland Stage Road and the recreational cannabis dispensary in Fieldstone Commons.
- Construction continues at the Santini property and site work has begun at the Yankee Trails Girl Scout property.
- Zoning Board of Appeals approved one variance for a shed.
- EDC continues to explore the concept of a community currency and is doing more research on this.
- EDC provided feedback to the PZC regarding the Tolland Commercial Zone
- Connecticut’s Countryside is hosting a business forum on February 7th, with a discussion on Artificial Intelligence and its application to businesses.
- Connecticut’s Countryside is interviewing firms to discuss implementation of the website and establishment of a social media presence.
- A draft update has been prepared by CRCOG to the regional Hazard Mitigation and Climate Adaptation Plan, which Town Council will need to adopt once finalized. It is open for public comment through February 16.
- Staff has begun creating a comprehensive inventory of town-owned properties.
- Staff attended a planners’ legislative roundtable with a discussion of ongoing land userelated priorities.
- Staff is responding to zoning/wetlands complaints, including tractor trailer storage on a residential property.
