A state police dog nabbed a pair of dumpster-diving metal thieves in Tolland, state police said.

TOLLAND, CT — State police dog Viper was singing a heavy metal tune to begin the week.

At 12:29 a.m. Monday, troopers responded to a trespassing complaint at 65 Kingsbury Ave., according to arrest reports. Trooper Kyle Kaelberer and Viper searched the area and two people surrendered from an area around dumpsters, according to arrest reports.

They were a 57-year-old Bolton woman and a 54-year-old Vernon man, state police said.

State police determined the pair was stealing scrap metal and auto parts from one of the dumpsters and they were taken onto custody, according to arrest reports.

Both weee charged with sixth-degree larceny and third-degree criminal trespass, according to arrest reports.
