'Tabulator Issue' Poses 'No Concern' Over Tolland Budget Vote: Town Manager
A "tabulator issue" has posed "no concerns" about Tolland's budget vote, Town Manager Brian Foley said.

TOLLAND, CT — A "tabulator issue" has posed "no concerns" about Tolland's budget vote, Town Manager Brian Foley said.
Foley elaborated:
"I was informed by both registrars that there had been a tabulator malfunction today. This was reported to my office prior to the results. I was told that the moderator, as well as a Democrat and a Republican all witness while they tested the machine to ensure that it was not working. They were prepared with a back up tabulator.

"Following the referendum, I met with the Democrat and Republican registrar privately after the results came in. There were no concerns and no objections to the results.
"I'm told that the jammed tabulator was not opened, a top piece was removed to see if they could clear the jam. The tabulators still have not been opened, they remained sealed in a locked and secure location."

The $64.6 million spending plan for the next fiscal year was endorsed Tuesday by a margin of 148 votes.
The ballot question read as follows:
“Shall the Town of Tolland’s proposed 2025-2026 budget of $64,620,929,
reflecting a spending increase of 1.5% which requires an estimated tax
rate of 27.19 mills for a decrease of 10.58 mills or 28.01% be adopted?”
The yes votes totaled 1,492.
The no votes were 1,344.
The turnout was 26.83 percent.
