Town to Sell Tolland's Old and Damaged Trucks, Equipment

The town is doing its best Sanford and Son imitation and getting rid of some junk items. 

But, as Town Manager Steven Werbner said recently, one town's junk is someone else's treasure. 

"There is a market for this stuff," he said. "It could be for parts … or for a variety of reasons."

The The Town Council recently approved a plan for the Department of Public Works to sell the following the following equipment: 

Item: 1995 GMC3500 SL.Condition: Poor - 107,112 miles, frame rusted, engine repair too costly.

Item: 1993 Dodge Power Ram Ram, 350 Cummins Turbo Diesel.Condition: Poor - 130,736 miles, service body, truck body severely rusted, engine repair too costly.

Item: 1994 Ford Crown Victoria.Condition - Poor, odometer replaced past 100,000 miles, fuel lines and brake lines need repair, frame rusted.

Item: 1998 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 pick-up.Condition: Unknown - Board of Education vehicle. 
• 
Item: 1970 Hulette 16-foot trailer.Condition - Poor, rusted frame and body.

Item: 1990 72 inch Toro mower.Condition: Unknown.

Item: Pioneer walk-behind line painter.Condition: Unknown.
• 
Item: 2001 Sterling Dump Truck.Condition: Blown motor.
• 
Item: 1989 Red Rolloff dump body with pull tarp system.Condition: Poor, rusting out.
