Traffic Stop Leads to Seizure of 1,500 Oxycontin Pills
The stop was made on I-84 in Tolland.

On June 26, at approximately 10:30 p.m., troopers from Troop C observed a white passenger van traveling I-84 eastbound in Tolland at a high rate of speed.
Troopers conducted a motor vehicle stop on the white van and initiated an investigation, where they found 14 passengers in the vehicle. Troopers determined the van driver was operating within his driver’s license passenger class limits.

Through the course of their investigation, troopers located a plastic bag containing approximately 1,500 30mg prescription oxycontin pills. The oxycontin pills have a street value of approximately $45,000.
The oxycontin pills were seized as evidence and transported to Troop C. The van driver was issued a motor vehicle infraction ticket for speeding.

Criminal charges are pending as the investigation continues.
