TOLLAND, CT — A 30-year-old Bloomfield man is facing a felony theft charge in a case involving an unreturned loaner car from a Tolland repair shop, state police said.

On July Michael Carter was served a warrant out of the Trop C barracks after he was stopped for a traffic violation in East Hartford, state police said.

His case goes back to Dec. 27, when he was given a 2016 Volvo S60 as a loaner vehicle while his was being repaired.

Three months later, the car was still not returned and several calls from state police went unanswered.

He posted a $20,000 bond in the case and has a court date of Aug. 13.

He has been charged with larceny of a motor vehicle.
