Veteran Tolland Fire Department Member Retiring
A two-decade member of the Tolland Fire Department is retiring.

TOLLAND, CT — A veteran member of the Tolland Fire Department who served for nearly a quarter-century is retiring.
Lt. Tom LeBel joined the department in 2000 and became a firefighter, EMR, and driver and reached the rank of Fire Lieutenant in 2012.
He served as an assistant explorer post adviser, served as a member of the Honor Guard as Commander, and served on the fire police unit for many years, fire officials said.

LaBel served on many committees throughout his time on the department including the honor guard and safety committees.
LeBel worked full-time at Pratt & Whitney for several years as a hazardous materials technician and brought his haz-mat skills to the department in Tolland.
