What Road in Tolland Needs a Speed Bump?
We asked Patch readers on Facebook what streets they thought needed a speed bump. Find out what your neighbors told us.

TOLLAND, CT - Over 9,000 fatalities occurred nationally during 2014 due to speeding according to the latest statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The data also shows a correlation between a driver’s age and the likelihood of a speed-related accident. As the age of a driver increases, their risk of being in an accident decreases. Men are also more likely to be at the wheel during a speeding accident, according to the study.
While the number of speed-related fatalities have continually decreased since 2005, speeding still remains an issue in many of our Patch communities, including Tolland. Readers suggested everything from increased police presence to more stop signs to building less housing to keep traffic at bay.

- "Kate Lane - right at the big curve . Can't even tell you how many cars have gone off the road (both ways) landing on my mailbox or my neighbor's mailbox, tearing up the lawns. I fear someone will get seriously hurt there someday!"
- "All along Old Stafford Rd. The limit is 35mph. People do not obey the speed limit."
- "Peter Green Rd! It's a cut through and everyone goes racing by! Especially between Kozley rd and the corner before taking a left onto Burbank."
- "As I'm reading this question, I see a UPS truck doing about 55 to 60 down Cook Rd. While I think 25 mph is unrealistic, anyone doing 10+ over in a residential shouldn't have a license."
- "Walbridge Hill Rd. towards the bottom to remind people there is actually a stop sign there!"
- "Gehring Road and Gehring Road Ext."
- "Near the stop sign on Gehring road!"
- "Gehring because it is a long flat stretch and people fly down."
- "Big Y parking lot to slow down the soccer moms and the yuppies."
- "Intersection of Buff Cap, Slater and Plains since so many ignore the stop signs."
