VERNON, CT — For the second time since the summer, a vintage collectibles store is closing in a Vernon commercial plaza.

A "store closing" sign was stretch across the front facade of Happy Collectors at 6:30 Talcottville Road.

The sign also said, "Everything must go" in an effort to transition to an online model. The web site was still alive and well, but phone calls were going unanswered.

The store's motto is, "Trying to enjoy every action figure out there. At happy collector toy store We carry new collectibles as well as toys."

It had just opened in July, but now it joins Paul's Boutique Record Store, named for the 1989 Beastie Boys album and buyer and seller of used records, stereo equipment and music memorabilia in leaving the plaza to go online.

Paul's conducted a liquidation sale in mid-August and vacated the plaza shortly after. Happy Collectors seems to be following a similar path.
