VERNON, CT — An angry motorist hit a contractor with his vehicle in a Vernon trailer park last week, police said.

Police released a report on the Jan. 16 incident this week.

At 1:17 p.m. that day, Vernon police received a call from a man saying he had just been hit by a car. It was being driven by a resident of the trailer park on Middle Terrace, according to an arrest report.

It turned out to be a contractor working on the placement of a new modular home inside the trailer park, according to a police account of the incident.

Police said it appeared that the resident, a 78-year-old man, seemed to have become cranky over construction delays and tried to maneuver around the crew, but hit the worker in the process.

He was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and third-degree assault and is due in Rockville Superior Court on Feb. 2, according to an arrest report.
