Drug Task Force Breaks Up Fentanyl Operation In Vernon
A suspected drug dealer is in custody after an arrest in Vernon, police said.

VERNON, CT — The East Central Narcotics Task force this week picked up a suspected dealer operating out of the Rockville section of Vernon, police said.
On Monday, officers from the task force, along with federal Drug Enforcement Administration agents and Vernon police took 41-year-old Shawn Johnson into custody on East Main Street in Vernon, according to arrest reports.
A subsequent search of his apartment on Elm Street, via a warrant, uncovered more than 32 grams of crack cocaine, and 38 packages of fentanyl, according to an arrest report.

Three warrants charged Johnson with the sale of a narcotic substance and possession of a controlled substance. He failed to post a $150,000 on two of them and $250,000 on a third, according to judicial system records.
He was also charged again with possession of a controlled substance, along with evidence tampering, interfering with police, possession with the intent to sell a narcotic substance, attempt to sell a narcotic substance and the use of drug paraphernalia, according to an arrest report. Another $250,000 bond was assigned to that set of charges, which Johnson also failed to post.

He is due back in Rockville Superior Court on Aug. 12, according to judicial system records.
