The Vernon Community Arts Center is throwing a gala party June 8 to commemorate its first year in town.
Director Joan Sonnanburg said that the center has focused on opening its doors to the community during its inaugural year through great classes like line dancing and puppetry to welcoming Vernon students with their own art shows and field trips.
"I want this to be a real community arts center, reaching out to people who may not have realized yet that they are interested in art," she said.
The gala runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on June 8. Guests will enjoy hor d'oeuvres courtesy of the Wood-n-Tap, jazz performances from the Ross Nougrad Jazz Trio and much more.
A variety of admission prices, some including a VCAC membership, are listed on the poster above.
"It's been an exhilarating first year," Sonnanburg said. "If you haven't come down yet, make sure you do!"
And make sure to reserve your ticket soon, Sonnanburg added! Thousands of residents have turned out for recent events but there are only 200 spots available for the gala.
