VERNON, CT — A loud teen gathering at a fast food restaurant in Vernon turned into an underage drunken driving charge, a police report shows.

Vernon police released a report on the July 13 incident incident this week.

According to an arrest report, at 2:05 that morning, officers responded to a disturbance at the McDonald's parking lot on Reservoir Road. When officers arrived, they encountered "numerous" teenagers hanging out in the lot with loud music coming from one of the vehicles, according to an arrest report. An arrest report described the gathering as "a nuisance."

When officers approached the driver, a 19-year-old girl from Enfield, she showed signs of impairment and failed a subsequent sobriety test, according to an arrest report. She was charged with driving under the influence and cannabis possession, according to an arrest report.
