VERNON, CT — A boozed-up teen was pulled over on Route 83 in Vernon and is now facing a variety of drunken driving-related charges, police said.

Vernon police released details of the incident this week.

According to an arrest report, at 2:15 a.m. on Dec. 20, Vernon police stopped a car on Route 83 for a headlight violation and suspicion of drunken driving. The 18-year-old from Tolland, who already has one driving under the influence charge on his record, failed a sobriety test, according to an arrest report.

The teen was charged with a second-offense DUI with a blood alcohol level beyond .02 at younger than 21, possession of alcohol by a minor, possession of cannabis at younger than 21, driving with improper headlamps, interfering with police and a lane violation, according to an arrest report.

He posted a $5,000 bond and is due in Rockville Superior Court on Jan. 7, records show.
