Vernon Firefighters Take Out Windshield To Rescue Stricken Driver At Crash Scene

VERNON, CT — A driver who apparently suffered a medical emergency was rescued from a rollover crash in. Vernon Monday evening, fire officials said.

The crash took place just before 6 p.m. on Bolton Road near the Indian Trail intersection.

After the driver suffered a medical emergency, the vehicle went off the road and rolled onto its side between a guide wire and a telephone pole, fire officials said.

Firefighters stabilized the vehicle with struts, cribbing, and rope and the windshield was cut open and removed and to get the driver out, fire officials said. The driver was transported to an area hospital for evaluation, fire officials said.

The vehicle was recovered by a towing company.
