
Vernon's Michelle B. Gunther is the recent recipient of the Girl Scouts of America Gold Award, the highest honor that Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors can receive.
Gunther earned her award by "creating the Michael Abelon Memorial Garden, in memory of the founder of the Connecticut IB Academy," according to the Girl Scouts of Connecticut Web site.
