Vernon Responders Thank Community For Toy Drive Response
In a letter to the community Monday, Vernon fire officials celebrated another successful toy drive.

VERNON, CT — Vernon responders Monday sent out a heartfelt letter of thanks to the community following another successful holiday toy drive.
Here is the transcript of the letter:
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
The Vernon Volunteer Firefighters were able to deliver new toys to 250 children on Monday, December 23rd. Since 1953 the program has grown from firefighters fixing and painting used toys for a limited number of recipients, to what it is today – 100% new toys to a significant number of children.
Thank you to those who supported our efforts financially, collected toys on our behalf, held
local toy collection drives, or just dropped a toy at one of our many locations. It was an amazing year! We couldn’t do it without your support and are grateful that you make us a success. Wishing you a safe and happy 2025!
Diane Carpenter, Secretary
Vernon Volunteer Firefighters Association
