Vernon Store Known For Service To Those Mourning Loved Ones Set To Close

VERNON, CT — A Vernon store that, for two-plus decades, has been a source of comfort for those mourning the loss of a loved one, is closing.

This was the message from Calla Lilly's to begin the week:

"After 22 wonderful years in business, we are sharing the bittersweet news that Calla Lily's will be closing at the end of March 2026."

Calla Lilly's, located at 308 Talcottville Road, was the go-to source in the region for Memory Lamps, which are alternatives to flowers designed to be a reminder of a loved one every time it lights up.

It also featured a variety of gifts.

"This decision was not an easy one," the message continued. "Our store has been more than a place of business-it has been a part of our lives and a part of this community. We are deeply grateful to every customer who walked through our doors, supported us, shared kind words, and became part of the Calla Lily’s family. Your loyalty, trust, and encouragement made it possible for us to do what we loved for more than two decades. We truly could not have done this without you.As we prepare to close."

Sales were in effect to begin the week on all gifts with the exception of Memory Lamps and sympathy gifts, the message said.

"Thank you for being part of our journey, for the memories, and for the relationships that meant so much to us," the message said. "We will always carry your support and friendship with us and remain forever thankful."
